Bryanna Lexus Freitas
Co-Founder | CRO | Scientist
Bryanna Lexus is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst of Class 2020 with two Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Psychology. She also graduated apart of the Commonwealth Honors College with her thesis involving the use of bacteriocins as an alternative treatment to MRSA infections. She is a Co-founder of Bac-Be-Gone and a previous member of the Riley Lab at UMass Amherst. She is originally from Lincoln, Rhode Island. Mid pandemic she became a Wadsworth Fellow at the New York Public Health Department studying various infectious diseases. She is currently a medical student at the Jacobs School of Medicine in Buffalo, NY. Fun facts about her include that she has the periodic table of elements committed to memory, owns a hedgehog and is a dual citizen (USA and Portugal).
Hailey Charest
Co-Founder | CEO | Scientist
Hailey is a graduate of the class of 2021 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with two Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Microbiology. She also graduated apart of the Commonwealth Honors College with a thesis focusing on the use of bacteriocins as a therapeutic treatment for MRSA infections. She is a Co-founder of Bac-Be-Gone and a previous member of the Riley Lab at UMass Amherst. She is originally from Westport, Massachusetts but is now living in Boston, MA and fully engrossing herself in the Boston lifestyle. Currently she is a Life Science Consulting Analyst at ClearView Healthcare Partners. Fun facts about her include that she loves going to the beach and sporting events with her friends.


Hadley Beauregard
Co-Founder | CFO | Scientist
Hadley is a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and German and Scandinavian Studies double major and Honors student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst of Class 2022. She is a Co-founder of Bac-Be-Gone and a current member of the Riley Lab at UMass working on her honors thesis. She is originally from Pepperell, Massachusetts. She plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in the following year. Fun facts about her include that she plays on the rugby team at Amherst.
Dr. Peg Riley
Head Scientific Advisor | Co-Founder
Dr. Riley is a professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1991. She has published over 100 articles and edited four books in microbial evolution and antimicrobial drug discovery. Dr. Riley has co-founded and worked with multiple start up businesses in the field of bacteriocins. She has encouraged us in our endeavor in forming this business and the creation of our product. We appreciate all of the advice and support she has provided us along with all the other amazing members of our research lab. A fun fact about her is that she has farm and a fish in the lab named Eugene.
